Summary: 19th June 2015 is the day for celebrating ‘World Ethnic Day’. India, along with 160 countries, will take part in the celebration. Fault your gorgeous ethnic look, with traditional Indian dresses and accessories.
Celebrate World Ethnic Day Today: Be Proud of Your Root
We commonly have a misconception that fashion means wearing western dresses. You can still look gorgeous and fashionable in ethnic dresses. To celebrate the traditional ethnic culture, this is the perfect day for you. Today, 19th June, 2015, around 160 countries across the world is celebrating ‘World Ethnic Day’.
The initiative has been taken by an Indian company, known as Craftvilla, and our favorite ‘the gorgeous and beautiful’ Vidya Balan has been made the ambassador for World Ethnic Day. Ethnic Day has been defined as the day for celebrating the ethnic culture of different countries. World is one – there is only one race for human beings and that is ‘human race’. We are diversified in terms of culture and traditions. The motto of World Ethnic Day is to celebrate the ‘unity in diversity’ of the world.
How to Celebrate World Ethnic Day?
Today is the day of celebrating your ethnicity, your tradition and culture. India, the largest democracy of the world, is always known to the world for its cultural diversity. Several cultural people live here. We have the fun loving Punjabis, food loving Bengalis, dance loving Guajarati, Marathi, Malayali, Manipuri and many more. World Ethnic Day is truly a tribute for all the ethnic group of people in India. I would celebrate the day with traditional Indian attire, preferably Saree, coupled with traditional Indian antique jewelries. Not just fashion, different ethnic backgrounds have enriched Indian cuisines with their traditional food dishes. I would definitely love to try some of those traditional Indian dishes today.
Ethnic Dresses and Bollywood Celebrities: Find Your Inspiration
When I think of fashion, Bollywood celebrities are often my inspirations. I have listed some of my favorite Bollywood stars, from whom you can take inspiration for your Ethnic fashion. Have a look:
1. Vidya Balan
Being the brand ambassador of World Ethnic Day, Vidya Balan is my obvious inspiration. She is gorgeous and beautiful – a perfect Indian Diva. I am really moved by her choices of Sarees, which she wears in various Bollywood events and parties. If simplicity is the best way of expressing your persona, then Vidya Balan is a perfect idol for you.
2. Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha, a true Indian beauty, carries herself incredibly in ethnic Indian dresses, like saree, salwar, lehenga, etc. In most of her movies, she has been found in gorgeous Indian dresses. Hence, she is the one, I truly admire, when it comes to wearing ethnic dresses.
3. Sonam Kapoor
The hot and happening, the style icon and the most stylish Bollywood star, Sonam Kapoor also looks pretty and gorgeous in ethnic dresses.
4. Alia Bhatt
We love Alia for her cute and beautiful screen appearance. Alia is not only comfortable in western dresses or fusion dresses, she also stands out in ethnic dresses. Her fans will surely remember her in various South Indian ethnic dresses, in her movie ‘2 States’.
5. Kangna Ranaut
The new ‘Queen’ of Bollywood, the happening Kangna Ranaut is another star I admire in ethnic dresses. She has her unique persona, which goes with ethnic Indian dresses very nicely.
So, celebrate your root and be proud to be an Indian. Join the unique celebration of ‘World Ethnic Day’, and inspire others to follow you.
